Who are we?

I began Lunar Dance Academy at The Elephant House in Bedminster back in 2021. The idea was to bring energy, excitement, creativity and an abundance of confidence to children's dance classes and I knew BS3 was the place to start!
We aren’t your typical dance class, intentionally. We appreciate the more traditional classes with bun-tied hair and leotards galore (in fact a number of our teachers trained for years in these styles), however our weekly classes are based on making our dancers feel uplifted so that they walk into this world with a spring in their step.
Our classes are ideal for those 4+. Each term the ‘vibe’ of the class is slightly different. We could be working on positioning and technique with Street Dance and Hip Hop or perhaps confidence and facial expressions with Commercial. Equally, some weeks we visit the floor with Contemporary and Lyrical encouraging freedom, mindfulness and musicality.
Dance for me, was always a release and a sense of community and therefore the classes and our wonderful dance family completely encompass that. We encourage an easy-going environment, where everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Regardless of your child’s current ability, every class provides opportunities to learn and develop, with our fantastically talented teachers who will guarantee to have your child skipping out the door smiling (and asking to come back!)
